The origin of the word is the following Tweet by professional baseball Player Osamu Kataoka (May 2011, then Seibu Lions).

Tweet [ I got up. This is a bad pathi-n(=pattern). I have to go to bed.]

The comical sound of “Pathi-n” attracted the attention of the younger generation, and it has come to be used on Internet forum and SNS.
